First Task: Product Value




























The initial task in JT Innovators experienced a product popularity search and product comparison. The company is running a B2C e-commerce website aside from web services as their secondary product. Part of the product to be designed and uploaded on the site should pass a certain rank and popularity of the item such as Alexa ranks. With this, before a design submitted to the designer team for designing purposes, it should be validated first by the research head.


The process of product searching is done manually, where browsing from one website to another website enormously and repeatedly done. Tiring in the sense that you have to move from one site to another site and record the properties of the favorite product design. It may sound mimicking the product but not the whole content; it is more of searching what the trend of a specific product design is.




The purpose of doing such is more on defining the marketability of the design. The popularity of the designs determines its marketability. SEO or Search Engine Optimization has a significant role in the product trends since it encompasses most of the website traffic, statistics of users visits and analytics.


The analytics runs by google page ranks are not comparable to the data analytics, data mining or data science. The first perform or satisfy google page rank algorithm while the later applied another domain of algorithm base on pattern or behavior of data.  Nevertheless, these analytics deals with big data.


The significance of this experience is the application of data analytics using the clickstream data. Vast researches inline with e-commerce using clickstream had published and there were a lot of challenges suggested in these study.
